The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) say they have inflicted significant losses on the Al-Dagalo militia during intensified military operations across several regions of the country over the past three days.
In a statement issued on Monday and carried by state broadcaster SUNA, the SAF said its forces continue to target what it described as concentrations and movements of the “terrorist Al-Dagalo militia”, reporting widespread destruction of personnel, vehicles and logistics.
According to the army, operations in the Kordofan sector resulted in the destruction of 56 military vehicles, alongside the killing and wounding of hundreds of militia fighters.
In the Darfur sector, SAF said a further 47 military vehicles were destroyed, with additional militia members killed or injured during sustained engagements.
Other army gains
In the Blue Nile sector, the military reported the destruction of four military vehicles and said dozens of rebel elements were killed or wounded.
The SAF also announced the destruction of several fuel depots and ammunition stockpiles at undisclosed locations, describing the strikes as a blow to the militia’s operational and supply capabilities.
The statement said government forces are continuing to expand security perimeters around cities and strategic installations, signalling an effort to consolidate territorial control and prevent renewed attacks.
“The Armed Forces remain steadfast in driving out the terrorist militia and cleansing the country of its presence,” the statement said, reaffirming the military’s resolve to press ahead with operations nationwide.
Sudan has been locked in conflict since April 2023, with fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces causing widespread destruction, mass displacement, and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
