The US Africa Command (AFRICOM) has confirmed that a United States military aircraft crashed near Chabelley Airfield in Djibouti on Sunday, with no known injuries or property damage reported.

"The incident remains under investigation and resulted in no known injuries or property damage," AFRICOM said on X on Monday.

Initial indications reveal "no evidence of external interference" as a cause of the crash, it added.

On Sunday, the US Embassy in Djibouti said the US personnel were coordinating "closely" with Djiboutian authorities to respond to the incident.
