Starlink has officially launched its internet service in Senegal, the company said Wednesday, marking its latest expansion in Africa.

“Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet is now available in Senegal!” Elon Musk’s satellite internet provider said in a post on the US social media company X.

Starlink, a division of SpaceX, has rapidly expanded its global presence and now operates in more than 150 countries, territories and other markets.

The company provides internet connectivity in remote or underserved areas using a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites.

Since 2023, Starlink has become operational in more than 20 African countries, expanding its satellite internet services across the continent.
