The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has implemented a significant social development project in Mozambique aimed at supporting women, who are survivors of physical and sexual violence.
The project aims to integrate them into the community's social and economic life.
The support programme, which brings together the physical and sexual violence survivors under the umbrella of the Hixikanwe Association, focuses on rehabilitation through economic empowerment.
As part of the initiative, a fully equipped production kitchen was established to help women develop professional skills while enabling them to generate income through regular production activities.
Sustainable model
The project also includes a stand designed to facilitate the sale of food products.
This allows the women to directly market what they produce, creating a sustainable income-generating venture.
Through this initiative, TİKA aims to strengthen the women's economic independence, boost their self-confidence, and support their active participation in social life.
The project is not only expected to contribute to individual rehabilitation processes but also to broader community development by promoting social inclusion.
