English Premier League club Chelsea FC will visit Lagos, Nigeria, for the first time in the club’s history this May as part of its global fan engagement programme, Chelsea FC say.

The league side confirmed the trip in a statement on Thursday, announcing that former player and Nigeria international Victor Moses will headline activities during the visit.

The Lagos event, described as the penultimate stop of the 2025/26 season for the initiative, will feature a weekend of fan-focused activities, including a watch party, interactive sessions, and a question-and-answer segment with Moses. Supporters will also have the opportunity to win signed club merchandise.

“Chelsea Football Club will be visiting Lagos, Nigeria, for the first time in the club’s history this May when our fan engagement programme The Famous CFC hosts its penultimate event of the 2025/26 season,” the club’s statement reads.

Strengthening ties

Chelsea said the programme is designed to strengthen ties with its global fanbase, with Lagos marking the fifth international stop this season. The club has expanded the initiative to include more cities, allowing supporters worldwide to engage directly with the team.

Moses remains a popular figure among Chelsea fans, having played a key role in the club’s 2016/17 Premier League title-winning campaign.

On the international stage, he represented the Nigerian national football team from 2012, winning the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and featuring in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup tournaments before retiring from international football in 2018.

Chelsea said the Lagos event will bring together its Nigerian fanbase as the season approaches its conclusion, highlighting the club’s continued efforts to grow its presence across Africa.
