Senegal have beaten Egypt 1-0 to book a spot in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 tournament.
Former Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane, scored the match's solitary goal in the 78th minute to ensure that the 2021 AFCON champions advance to the tournament's final for the second time in under five years.
Egypt, under their talisman Mohamed Salah, posed minimal threat to Senegal in front of goal in a game played at the 75,000-seater Grand Stade de Tanger venue in Morocco's northwestern port city of Tangier on Wednesday.
Senegal will now play either their West African rivals, Nigeria, or the hosts, Morocco, in the final on Sunday, January 18.
Senegal pursuing second AFCON trophy
The Atlas Lions and the Super Eagles will play the second semifinal fixture later Wednesday in the capital, Rabat.

Senegal, who have won the AFCON trophy once in history, played against the seven-time winners of the trophy, Egypt, in the 2021 AFCON final, with the Teranga Lions beating The Pharaohs 4-2 on post-match penalties after a 0-0 draw in extra-time.
