DRC central bank lowers main interest rate by 750 basis points

The Democratic Republic of Congo's central bank has lowered its main interest rate by 750 basis points to 17.5% on Tuesday.

The reserve bank says it expects inflation to fall further over the next 12 months, settling around its medium-term target of 7%.

It added in a statement that it expects a stabilisation of the exchange rate and robust economic growth next year.
