Algeria has announced it was severing diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates, saying it had exhausted "all means" of preserving bilateral ties.
The decision was announced by Algeria's Foreign Ministry, according to the official Algeria Press Service (APS).
"Algeria decided on Thursday to sever diplomatic relations with the Emirates after exhausting all means of preserving bilateral relations, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," APS published.
The ministry did not provide further details on the reasons behind the decision.
The move marks a major deterioration in relations between the two Arab countries.
