Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah and Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi have been named among the 26 finalists for the FIFPRO World 11 of 2025.

The list, announced by the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) on Monday, recognises the best players in the world based on votes cast by professional footballers.

Hakimi, who plays as a right-back for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), earned his place following a series of consistent performances between July 15, 2024, and August 3, 2025.

The 26-year-old defender received one of the highest vote totals among players in his position, reflecting his strong contributions for both club and country.

Mohamed Salah’s nomination comes after another productive season with Liverpool and the Egyptian national team.

The 33-year-old forward recorded 32 goals and 18 assists across all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign.

The top eleven to be unveiled

Salah’s continued consistency at the top level has reinforced his reputation as one of world football’s most reliable attacking players.

The 2025 FIFPRO World 11 shortlist features several of the sport’s leading figures, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

The goalkeeping nominees include Alisson Becker, Thibaut Courtois, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, while defenders such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Marquinhos are also listed. Midfielders Jude Bellingham, Kevin De Bruyne, Luka Modrić, Pedri, and Federico Valverde complete the group of top contenders.

The final World 11 will be unveiled on November 3, 2025, and will consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards, with an additional player selected based on the next-highest vote count.

The FIFPRO World 11 award, established in 2005 by the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO), is the only global football honour voted exclusively by professional players.

Each year, thousands of players worldwide select their best performers by position, evaluating impact and consistency throughout the season.
