Ugandan social media influencer Diana Namulinde, known online as Diana Skys, has been laid to rest after being found dead in her Kampala apartment.
The 24-year-old’s body was discovered on February 4 after friends grew concerned over not hearing from her.
Reports indicate the friends found her apartment door wide open and immediately alerted police.
Local media stated Namulinde’s body showed signs consistent with strangulation.
Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that homicide and crime scene officers documented the location.
Suspects arrested
Owoyesigyire told Uganda’s Daily Monitor that “several exhibits” were recovered and statements were taken from relevant witnesses. Authorities have identified three suspects, with two currently in custody.
According to NBS Television, one of those arrested is a security guard allegedly found with items believed stolen.
Namulinde, who was buried on Friday February 6, had built a sizable online presence, amassing nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok, where she shared beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and travel content. Her posts often showcased her life, photoshoots, and brand collaborations.
Her final Instagram post, shared on February 3, featured a fashion-forward look with the caption: “Dianah means perfect light. Goddess of fire.” Her bio described her as a creator, makeup artist, and designer, noting “God first.”
News of her death prompted an outpouring of grief across her social media pages as fans, friends, and fellow creators mourned the loss.
