Commander of US Air Forces for Africa, General Dagvin R.M. Anderson, announce dis one during one virtual press briefing about di result of African Chiefs of Defence Conference 2026. E talk say di partnership between Washington and Abuja still dey active, especially for intelligence work wey dey target Islamic State (ISIS/Daesh).

According to Anderson, di special mission wey make US send dia troops don finish, so dem don withdraw most of dia people. But e talk say di United States go still dey give intelligence help anytime di Nigerian government ask.

"And so dat operation for Lake Chad Basin for Nigeria no only help di countries for dat area; e still dey help oda countries around di world becos e dey scatter di ISIS network," Anderson talk.

"And so — and we don withdraw plenty of our forces wey come just for dat operation, but we still dey continue di partnership wey Nigeria ask for, to help continue wit intelligence sharing and di understanding wey dey necessary to fit handle dis difficult work," e add.

Di US Air Force commander describe Nigeria as one key regional partner wit strong military, and e talk say di collaboration between di two countries don bring good results for di fight against ISIS.

E give credit to intelligence cooperation between di two countries wey make one operation possible, and dat operation remove di second-highest person for di global ISIS network.

"I think di partnership wey we don show recently wit Nigeria, where Nigeria be one very capable and big country — e get strong economy; e get plenty educated people; e get very capable military,” e yarn.
