Di President talk say di growing instability across di Sahel region don show say e dey necessary to strengthen Nigeria internal security by creating state police and expanding forest guard operations.

Im assure di people say di proposed State police system go get safeguards wey go prevent anybody from abusing am.

Di president talk dis one when im receive members of Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, wey di Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja lead, for State House, Abuja.

Di Olubadan say di visit na to thank di President for rescuing di over 40 pupils and teachers wey kidnappers take from schools for Oriire local government after 56 days for captivity.

Tinubu say im administration dey respond to new security threats by changing di country operational strategy.

Im say dem dey strengthen di security architecture by increasing di Nigerian Army from eight to twelve divisions, so dat response time go reduce and dem go fit fight terrorists and bandits better.

Di President explain say di proposed State police system, wey don generate national debate for many years, go get institutional safeguards wey go make sure state governments or political actors no fit misuse am.

Im still talk say traditional rulers go get active roles inside dis new policing framework.

"Some of dem (terrorists) wey no be Nigerians, you see di insecurity problem for Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic, e dey add more fire to our challenges.

"Na why we must improve di capacity of forest guards and create State police.

"Many years of fear and uncertainty about wetin to do about security for local level go dey corrected. State police go exist, and dat State police go get safeguards against abuse. We go protect am from abuse, and una traditional rulers too go get role to play," Tinubu talk.
