Di notice talk say: "Di reason for this emergency sitting na to allow Senate to consider urgent national matters, especially issues wey concern national security and oda critical tins wey need immediate attention from lawmakers."

Last week, both chambers of federal legislature don close plenary and go on recess, with lawmakers expecting to resume work on July 7, 2026.
