Di Delta State Police Command say dem arrest 86 suspects for different crimes and rescue 18 people wey kidnappers carry between April and June 2026.

Di Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, talk dis one on Monday during di command second-quarter briefing for Asaba.

He say dem arrest di suspects for offences including kidnapping, cultism, murder, armed robbery, and drug trafficking.

He say 46 of di suspects dem don charge for court, while 30 others still dey under investigation.

Oyeniyi say di command still recover 32 firearms, 197 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition, and 219 live cartridges during different operations within di period.

Di police commissioner still reveal say seven suspected drug dealers dem arrest, with five already arraigned for court.

He say di command recover different illicit substances, including tramadol, codeine, Rohypnol, Swinol, MDMA (Molly), Canadian Loud, cannabis, Monkey Tail, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), Tianeptine (Zaza), and psychoactive chewing gum wey dem dey call "Highness Gum."

Oyeniyi give credit to intelligence-led policing and di commitment of officers for tackling crime across di state.

He assure residents say di command go continue di operations to ensure safety of lives and property.

"We remain committed to make Delta State safe for all law-abiding residents. We go continue to intensify efforts against criminal elements across di state," he talk.
