Nigeria govment talk yesterday say before di 2027 election, faith-based and traditional institutions suppose dey promote peace. Dem suppose gada dia followers make nobody manipulate dem into violence wey fit start before, during, or afta di election.

Di Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, give dis advice during di meeting of Nigerian Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) for Abuja yesterday.
Di meeting get important traditional rulers like Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, and di President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh.

Akume tok say: “Di 2027 general election dey fast approach, and NIREC, through our traditional and religious leaders, faith-based organisations, and youth associations, get di moral responsibility to strengthen collaboration, grassroots mobilisation, youth education, peaceful living, tolerance, security, and protection of life and property for our communities.”

Di SGF talk say make dem stop any kind manipulation wey fit cause division among citizens, and say peaceful election fit only happen where responsible leadership dey for grassroots level.

According to am, Nigeria own religious and cultural diversity make tolerance and understanding of different religions important for national unity.
Akume note say to understand each oda beliefs and practices still dey important to build trust and keep peace.

Di SGF say NIREC role don become more important for promoting dialogue, understanding, and peaceful living among di different religious groups for di country.

E warn say Nigeria, like many oda places for di world, still dey face challenges wey stereotype, misinformation, insecurity, and identity-based division dey cause.

“Di world today still dey face serious challenges wey fit start conflict. Dis challenges dey come from lack of understanding, stereotype, bad communication, and using identity as weapon,” Akume tok.

Di SGF note say political and economic manipulation dey make dis kind challenges worse, and e dey lead to violence and bad blood for communities.

E maintain say di government responsibility no be to politicise religion or encourage intolerance, but to strengthen citizenship, understanding, and responsibility among Nigerians.
