President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for im 2026 Democracy Day message, celebrate say Nigeria don do 27 years of civilian government.

Tinubu say Nigeria don experience di longest time of civilian rule without interruption since dem return to democracy on May 29, 1999. E tok say political palava now dey settle for court and parliament, not by fighting.

“Today, we celebrate not only democracy but also the enduring Nigerian spirit,” Tinubu tok. “For 27 unbroken years, since May 29, 1999, Nigerians don choose their leaders by voting, we see peaceful handover of power, and we settle disagreements for courtroom and legislative house—not by violence.”
