Dis warning come from di National Flood Early Warning Centre of di Federal Ministry of Environment for one flood prediction notice wey dem release on April 8, 2026, and wey di Director of Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, Usman Bokani, sign.
Di notice tok say: “Di following areas and where dem dey near go see heavy rain wey fit cause flooding between April 8 and April 12, 2026.”
According to di ministry, communities for Ebonyi, Anambra, Ogun, Taraba, Cross River, Benue, Imo, Delta, Rivers, and Abia states dey among di places wey fit get heavy rain wey cause flooding for dat time.
Di ministry tok say for Ebonyi State, Afikpo and Nkalagu fit be affected, while for Anambra State, Atani, Iyowa Odekpe, Odekpe, and Onitsha dey di list.
Dem also mention Ayetoro and Ilaro for Ogun State; Donga, Kwata Kanawa, Lau, Serti, Takum, and Yorro for Taraba State; plus Edor, Ikom, and Itigidi for Cross River State.
Oda places include Igumale for Benue State; Nworievbi, Okigwe, Otoko, and Owerri for Imo State; Oko Anara for Delta State; Port Harcourt for Rivers State; and Umuahia for Abia State.
