One coalition of opposition political parties and stakeholders wey dey under G-100 platform, dem go hold summit for Abuja on August 18, 2026, as part of dia effort to make opposition parties for Nigeria dey more united before di 2027 general elections.

Dis summit come after series of consultations between representatives of G-100 and leaders of six opposition political parties, wey include African Democratic Congress, Allied Peoples Movement, National Democratic Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Redemption Party and Social Democratic Party.

Di statement wey dem title “G100: Consultations with opposition leaders set stage for unity summit,” talk say representatives of di group don meet with di national chairmen, presidential candidates and running mates of di opposition parties.

According to di group, dem deliberately do di consultations away from media so dat di political actors fit discuss sensitive issues freely without di pressure of public scrutiny.

“We deliberately keep these consultations away from di media eye, because we know say many of di discussions dey sensitive and we need to allow party leaders to talk frankly and constructively without di pressure of premature public commentary,” di statement talk.

G-100 talk say one common position emerge from di meetings, especially on di need for opposition parties to overcome dia differences and establish more coordinated political front before di 2027 elections.
