Nigeria don talk say dem go demand compensation from South Africa for all di Nigerians wey bin dey forced to abandon dia businesses and oda valuable properties as dem dey return back to Nigeria, sake of di fresh anti-immigrant wahala wey dey happen for dat country.
Dis one come as 269 more Nigerians land for Lagos for di third evacuation flight wey government arrange, wey make di total number of people wey dem don evacuate so far reach 603.
Dis one include di 268 wey Air Peace carry on June 11 for di first batch; 66 wey ValueJet evacuate on July 25 for di second batch; and di 268 wey Air Peace bring back yesterday.
As di evacuees dey touch down for Lagos yesterday, di Acting Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa, Temitope Ajayi, wey appear for Channels Television program The Morning Brief, talk say government don already start to compile records of businesses and properties wey di returnees leave behind.
E add say di information go be di basis for discussions with South African authorities about possible compensation.
Di envoy talk say: “Concerning di businesses, just three days ago, myself and di South African Deputy Minister of Finance bin dey together and we dey discuss dis matter.
“I raise di discussion with her and we agree say we go ask our people wey dey return to begin to document wetin dem dey leave behind, and dat na di message wey we give yesterday (Monday, June 29) before dis set wey suppose land for Lagos.
“I don ask dem before dem leave yesterday to document very well all di things wey dem dey leave behind for terms of businesses, even cars, movable and immovable properties. We fit now take am up with di South African government. Dat na di next step wey we go take.
“So, dis repatriation no go end with just carrying people go Nigeria; we go systematically follow up on di information wey dem give us, and I tell dem make dem be very accurate with wetin dem go give because we go work with di South African government to reach di exact locations of all these businesses, shops and properties and present dem to di South African government for possible compensation because we no go allow di labour wey people don suffer to build over di years just go waste or be taken over by oda people.”
E repeat im earlier position say majority of Nigerians wey dey live for South Africa na legal residents, say most of dem enter di country through legal immigration channels.
