For one notice wey dem release on Thursday, NISO tell market people and customers say di maintenance go happun from February 12 to 15, 2026, and e go make some thermal plants no get enough gas. Dem tok say if dem need manage di load, dem go first take care of critical infrastructure and essential services.
Di power plants wey go feel am direct na Egbin, Azura, Sapele and Transcorp. For NDPHC Sapele, Olorunsogo and Omotosho, dem go face wahala small because of how gas dey balance for di network.
Dis maintenance go affect gas wey dey flow inside NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC) pipeline, so thermal generation for national grid go reduce. At least seven power stations go face direct and indirect wahala.
For anoda statement wey NISO management and NNPC Ltd tok, dem confam say gas to seven grid power plants go reduce during di four days.
Earlier check by NISO show say dis maintenance fit cause generation to drop by about 934.96 megawatts, wey be like 19.67 per cent of di total thermal and hydro generation of 4,753.10MW wey dey di grid.
