Presido Tinubu praise Nigerian soldiers after coup attempt for Benin

President Bola Tinubu don Nigeria praise im soldiers for the quick bravery dem show on Sunday to stop the coup for neighbouring Benin.

For one statement wey Bayo Onanuga, the president spokesman, release, e quote Tinubu say "the soldiers quickly respond to the request wey Benin government give to save their 35-year-old democracy."

The statement say Tinubu take the action after the Benin Republic government ask am two times.

"First, President Bola Tinubu order Nigerian Air Force jets make dem enter Benin and dem seize control of the airspace to help contain the people wey dey attempt the coup at the country's TV station and another military camp where dem regroup," the statement say.

"On the second request, Benin authorities ask make dem use Nigerian Air Force equipment to gather information and to provide emergency assistance under the direction of Benin authorities," the statement add.

Also, the Benin government ask Nigerian ground troops to "carry out operations under orders from Benin authorities to protect institutions under the constitution and to contain armed groups."
