Minister of Finance and Coordinating of Economy for Nigeria, Taiwo Oyedele, yesterday tok say Federal Executive Council (FEC) don give green light for three big rail projects wey go boost infrastructure, productivity, and economic growth for major cities.

According to am, Information Minister Mohammed Idris and Works Minister David Umahi also talk about plenty decisions wey FEC take, including creation of Presidential Task Force for Power Sector Reform, some federal appointments, and approval for road projects wey near completion.

As e dey brief journalists afta di meeting, Oyedele say di projects wey go cover Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna na to help goment better life of citizens.

“We know say to get economic development, you need infrastructure wey dey work, wey fit increase productivity and growth, and also better di quality of life of di people,” e tok.

According to am, di approved projects include Phase 1A of Lagos Green Line rail, Kano State Metro City rail project, and Kaduna State light rail system.

Oyedele talk say dese three cities na very important economic hubs, and say small investment for dem fit give big result.

“You go agree say dese three cities very important and strategic. All cities important, but places wey 10 percent effort fit give up to 90 percent result,” e add.

E also reveal say di projects go be financed through Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) on behalf of Federal Goment, with arrangements for counterpart funding. For total, Oyedele tok say di three rail projects cost about $2.99 billion.
