Di Consulate, for statement wey dem date July 25 express concern about di shooting of anoda Nigerian, Egwabor Patrick Chuks, wey dey receive treatment for serious injuries wey e get during di operation on July 23.

E talk say, "Una no get any right to take somebody life; e no good. We lose our broda; una must give am life make e wake up.

"Di only tin wey fit solve dis one: una must wake dat guy up make e dey alive again. No solution for those people wey involved; dem fit come out too. Make we take gun and shoot all of dem once."

"Justice must dey served. Una no fit come here and treat us like animals. How una fit come here and kill somebody? Dem dey treat us like animals. Dis no be how police suppose do work. If una want do una work, do una work, no kill somebody."

Reacting to di killing, di consulate statement read, "Di Consulate General of di Federal Republic of Nigeria for Johannesburg strongly condemn di death of Nigerian national Ibeh Chika Simon, under questionable circumstances, during a South African Police Service operation on 23rd July 2026 for Bellville, Cape Town."

Di mission add say, "We dey vex well-well about reports of di bad police tactics wey lead to im death, and also di shooting of anoda Nigerian, Egwabor Patrick Chuks, wey still dey receive treatment for serious injuries."

According to di Consulate, dis incident show "one alarming pattern of unresolved extrajudicial killings and unacceptable misconduct against foreign nationals."

E further state say, "As Afrophobic sentiment dey rise, such actions show one troubling disregard for di fundamental rights to life, dignity, and due process wey South African law guarantee to all human beings."
