France has announced that it is withdrawing it troops from Niger as well as evacuating diplomats after weeks of a tug of war with the military rulers that seized power on July 26. France, Niger's former colonial ruler, has strongly denounced the coup. The US also has a huge interest in Niger and across the Sahel region. So what does the situation mean for the United States?
