President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday show five coordinated social and development programmes wey cost about $3.05 billion.

He talk say na big intervention to quick reduce poverty, make community strong, and increase investment for Nigeria human capital.

Di programmes include Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Additional Financing (NG-CARES), di Solutions for Internally Displaced Persons and Host Communities (SOLID) initiative, and di three-part Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) package, wey get HOPE Gov, HOPE PHC and HOPE Edu.

Di Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, represent President Tinubu, and he talk say di interventions na to turn recent economic gains into real improvements for Nigerians for every ward and local community.

"Dis one no be just set of programmes; na promises wey dem don keep.
"For our Renewed Hope Agenda, we enter office wey we promise to reform our economy, secure di nation, and invest for our people.

"Today, we dey act on that promise; we dey protect di vulnerable, empower communities, and build human capital wey go carry Nigeria forward," he talk.

Di President talk say NG-CARES go get about $1.25 billion additional World Bank money to support smallholder farmers and small businesses, while SOLID, wey get $300 million backing, na to connect humanitarian relief and development for internally displaced persons and di communities wey host dem.

He add say di $1.5 billion HOPE package go strengthen governance, primary healthcare, foundational learning, teacher support and public education.

According to am, di five programmes na one big national strategy.

"These five programmes no be separate efforts. Dem be one coordinated national strategy for poverty reduction, human capital development and community resilience.

"Livelihoods, healthcare, education, social protection, and support for displaced communities dey support each other where e matter most – for grassroots level," he talk.

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, describe di initiatives as whole-of-government response to rising cost of living, poverty and human capital challenges.
