A total of 246,228 people have been affected by floods since the start of this year’s rainy season in Niger, according to officials.
Hundreds of classrooms will also need to be rebuilt ahead of the start of the school year, the National Committee for Flood Prevention and Management (CNPGI) said.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Equipment and Infrastructure Colonel Major Salissou Mahaman Salissou.
"Based on data updated as of September 10, 2025, a fourth wave of support is being processed to reach 9,976 households totaling 79,442 people," the committee informs.
The committee also commented on the impact of these floods on school infrastructure.
