Sudanese nationals living in Türkiye are demanding global action on the humanitarian crisis and severe human rights violations resulting from the ongoing civil war in Sudan.
During a recent protest at the Beyazıt Square in Istanbul's Fatih district they displayed Sudanese flags and banners and decried the ongoing violence against civilians in Sudan.
Nazar Ali, President of the Sudanese Community, delivered a press statement on behalf of the group.
Ali stated that they were protesting against the human rights violations by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of Al Fasher in North Darfur.
Ali asserted that the RSF and its supporters "must be held accountable before international law" and called on the international community to declare the RSF a "terrorist organisation".
The demonstrators expressed appreciation to Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for supporting Sudan and announced that they would pursue a legal struggle in partnership with human rights defenders in Türkiye.
The demonstration aimed to draw attention global to the severe human rights violations faced by the Sudanese people, including violence, forced displacement, looting, and the systematic destruction of infrastructure, while urging the international community not to "forget Sudan".
It also sent a message of support to the Sudanese people facing the consequences of the war back home. Demonstrators chanted the slogan: "One army, one people."

The protest was attended by representatives of Sudanese civil society groups and citizens who condemned the violence in Sudan.
