The death toll from a fire in southwestern Nigeria rose to ten on Thursday, according to local media.
Officials from United Capital, an investment and financial services firm, confirmed six employees died in the blaze, adding to four Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) staff previously confirmed dead, according to local news site Okay.ng.
The fire erupted at the Afriland Towers in Lagos Island on Tuesday, forcing workers to evacuate.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Federal Fire Service fought to control the blaze, rescuing nine individuals.
President offers condolences
Five were successfully revived, while four remained unconscious during the emergency operation.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu offered condolences to the victims' families, Afriland Properties Limited, FIRS, United Capital, and the United Bank for Africa (UBA).
