Nigerian Air Force (NAF) don pay compensation to families wey mistaken airstrike kill and injure on 25 December 2024 for the villages Gidan Bisa and Rumtuwa, inside Silame local government area, of Sokoto State.

Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, wey be the Force's Director of Public Relations, na im present the compensation during one visit wey e do on behalf of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.

E praise Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the warm reception and the steady cooperation wey the Sokoto state government dey give the military.

On how the thing happen, the officer talk say dem carry out the strike under the plan "Fansan Yamma" after intelligence show say terrorists dey the areas wey the operation target.

After the strike people file complaint in April 2025 and that lead to investigation. The probe find say 13 civilians die and 8 people get injured. The military describe the incident as regrettable and NAF accept responsibility.

Governor Sokoto also praise the Air Force for the way dem handle the matter, saying dem show professionalism, openness and compassion.
