NCDC tok say, at least 18 states for Nigeria don record at least one confirmed case of Lassa fever.

Dem add say, "86 per cent of all confirmed Lassa fever cases come from five states: Bauchi, Ondo, Taraba, Benue and Edo."

NCDC still explain say, "Up till week 9 of 2026, 109 people don die from di disease, wey make di death rate be 23.2%. Dis one pass di death rate for di same time last year, wey be 18.7%."

"For di whole of 2026, 18 states don record Lassa fever cases for 69 local government areas."

"Eighty-six per cent of di confirmed cases come from five states: Bauchi (28%), Ondo (22%), Taraba (19%), Benue (9%) and Edo (8%). Di remaining 14% come from 13 oda states wey also get confirmed cases."
